Forgiveness!

Forgiveness is not something we do for other people. We do it for ourselves- to GET WELL and MOVE ON. Most times we say we can't forgive people who hurt us.... IF only we really know how much more we are hurting ourselves by not forgiving.

One thing you most know is that it is impossible to forgive and forget. When people hurt you.. they leave scars and marks that will always remind you of the hurt. Now, that is not as bad as people make it look, besides you have to remember the hurt cos they are all part of life lessons( you most have learned something new about yourselves that you would not have known if not for the misunderstanding and you most have also learned something about the other parties or party involved). The LESSONS are the important thing to remember and those scars - help.. believe me. If you forget, it might repeat itself.

However, even tho it is almost impossible to forget hurts, FORGIVENESS IS SUPER POSSIBLE--- To me, forgiving someone or a group of people means that you are over the hurt and promise yourself not to bring it up unless in a situation where you want to share the lessons you learned in other to help another person who might be in the same situation.

---if you do bring it up, it should not be with the same pain you felt when you were initially hurt ( I say this because i have worked myself through the process) You can talk about something someone did not you and not be hurt by it again ie you don't feel the level of pain or brokenness you felt when the deed was done.

I have a lot of principles I live by and one of them is do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I mention this because we all really have to forgive each other and give each other a break... nothing hurts me as much as when i see people who were once close friends and buddies or even in a loving relationship become total enemies... I cant comprehend it.

On earth we live and relate with human beings and we are bound to step on each others toes.. therefore forgiveness should always be at your fingertip. I have been accuse of being very forgiving... but really I forgive because God wants us to and i feel so much better and at peace and lastly.. if i ever hurt you.. i would really love it if you forgive me- because really..sensible and respectable human beings do not go around looking for people to hurt.. esp. not their families and friends!

I hope someone after reading this will choose to let go of the hurt and see that we are all flesh and we make mistakes each day--- pls do not ditch your friends and families because they hurt you.. something can always be worked out.. and if not.. you will have your peace of mind knowing you tried:)

A friend sent this song to me when i needed it most, it brought me to tear and helped me forgive - I hope and pray it ministers to you.

God bless

Love Always

Where Has All the Fear Gone!

From a facebook Note! Enjoy

There are certain ppl we fear in our lifes. They could be our parents, our spouse, our siblings or even some of your friends and loved ones. With these ppl you know there are certain things you just can't do, just cos you fear to see them hurt or dissapointed with you. Not just the fear of hurting them, but also the fear of being disciplined by them if you disobey.

The question now is 'Where has all the fear gone when it comes to God, the one who created us and all the people we tend to even revere more than HIM?'. I have asked myself this question all week. And the more I think about it, I realise how powerful God is. He can do and undo. When He says yes, no man can say No. He is the mighty man in battle. The Bible in many instances talks about the wrath of God. Why don't we read those??? It's simple..

It is mind buggling that this God who loves us so much could also be such a disciplinarian. This God is able to take your life in just a second and you will not have any say in it. He is also able to take everything you hold dear, if that's what it will take Him to get you to live in the perfect plan He has for you. Shouldn't we make conscious effort to fear this God???? There are times our parents deprived us of things we really wanted if we did not act appropriately. Do you not think that if our earthly fathers would love us to obey them that the King of Kings would want that toooooo??

Today we have really gotten carried away by the love of God that we no more focus on the fact that he chastises those he loves. We quote the scriptures that talk about his love more than the ones that talk about his wrath. We have focussed on the 1 John 1:9 which says 'if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us', but have ignored Romans 6:1 where we are asked 'What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?'.

I'm guilty of focusing so much on God's love and forgetting my actions come with consequences. They may be pleasant or unpleasant. His love is what will pull me through the unpleasant situation while I deal with it, but His love does not erase the effect of my actions. For example, you cheat in an examination and get caught. God will forgive you when you ask for forgiveness. But it does not imply that you will not have to face the school board or possibly get kicked out of school. This simple example applies to so many decisions we make and actions we take in life.

Yes GOD IS LOVE.. We can't deny that. Why don't we consider loving him back by obeying His word? His words, His princples and laws are all for our good. Do we take His words seriously or has it become 'same old' to us? Obeying them is where we get the wisdom. Looking at areas where I missed God, I can truly say I would have escaped all the pain and hurt if only I chose to fear Him and obey His words. We need to seek a balance in our knowledge of the word of God. While we can't totally rule out his love, we do not have to loose sight of the consequences of our actions. God wants us to fear Him cos it is truly the beginning of wisdom. It is only the person you have some form of fear and respect for that you will obey .

Our walk with God is still a journey we work on perfecting everyday including me. We are not perfect but we can strive to be. We need wisdom everyday in all we do. Wisdom has nothing to do with your level of intelligence, however it is your ablilty to apply the knowlegde you have. The world today is overloaded with information and knowledge but really lacks Wisdom. Lets seek wisdom which begins with fearing God.

Have you been finding it hard obeying God???? Do you love Him? Do you fear hurting HIM?

God Bless.

Loving Me 2 Love You- lm2lu

The one thing that is common with all humans is the search for love and acceptance. The only difference is in how and where we go about looking for this love. I'm sure reading the title one could easily conclude that "loving me" is a selfish thing to do. Thoughts or ideas like that have really affected our society a great deal. What makes you think you can give someone else what you don't have??

This is the misconception we all have to correct. This is my first post and i want it to set the tone for the blog! LOVING ME 2 LOVE YOU. In my short life so far, I have come to realised that if you truly do not love yourself... it is almost impossible to love someone else.

Generally, we are the most critiques of ourselves especially ladies. We always seem to find something that is wrong about us our sth that could be better. Sweetheart, thats is almost a constant-- you will always find those.. so it is about time we wake up to loving and accept ourselves for who we really are.

Joel Osteen, once said that if you try copying or being someone else- you can only be an imitation- Why would you want to be a second hand human being when you can be as original as God created you uniquely.

The problem with always finding fault in you is that.. you end up doing the same things to other people you come in contact with- either in your family or any form of relationship.

However, when you make is a habit of finding the good things and features of your lovely self and life( dnt get me wrong, i'm not talking about going around and boasting about yourself and all, it is all about inner satisfaction and love for who you really are) you will realise that doing same for people will come very natural. Try this for a week and see the results you get!!!!

Jesus even said we should love our neighbours as ourselves.... indirectly implying that we have to love ourselves to know how to love others.

The simple step of loving you and accepting you with all your faults is a very important step in allowing your self to be loved and loving other the right way.

love always!
